Pomp and Circumstance

Ok, Tara.....Here you go! :)

Well, I made it to graduation! I flew back to DC last week for testing and final pass-offs before making the big march on THE mall. Unfortunately Pete couldn't make the trip with me since he had FINALS WEEK this week (gross), but I was able to stay with my brother and his family in Maryland which always makes the trip much more fun. My degree is MSN with FNP from GWU (haha), and after almost 8 years of college I am ready to be done! At least for a few years before I go back for a DNP.........
Here are some photos of the festitivities:

This is the building where we had most of our summer classes:

This is the car that Peter bought me for my graduation gift!!! Awesome!

My brothers were so sweet and brought me roses at graduation:

Some of my friends waiting on the Mall to line up and march in. Yes, it was pouring rain.

We were getting bored during the speakers:

GWU is the only school in the country that can have their commencement on the National Mall, so it was pretty fun to be there. View from my seat waiting for everyone else to march in:

It's official!

So my brother opted NOT to make his kids sit through another incredibly boring graduation ceremony, so they dropped me off and went to the Air and Space Museum instead, and I met up with them after graduation. Don't worry, I didn't wear my garb the WHOLE time we were there. :)

Me and Bro:

M and C wanted a "bro-sis" shot, too. So cute!

While in DC, I got to meet up with 2 of my friends that are now living in DC: Haley and Sherrie. We had fun trying to get photos of each other without asking for someone to take our picture.

I'm going for a new hairstyle now: long hair on the left side, short hair on the right. It's pretty cool and I've received a ton of compliments :) haha.

Now if only I could find a job.......

Belly Up!

Horray! A new oven! Our 30-year-old senile oven went belly up recently, so we were FORCED to buy a new oven! :) I found a killer deal on craig's list (our favorite store) for a 1-year-old GE Profile and we went for it. Guess what? It only takes 6 minutes to pre-heat (instead of 45+), has a digital clock and timer (instead of one of those spindle thingy's that broke decades ago), all of the burners work, and cooks the meals in the amount called for (instead of double the time)!!! Wohoo!

Bad news?? The rest of our kitchen is now begging for an upgrade!! Luckily Pete has the summer off and we can start painting everything in site! My sister (interior designer extraordinaire) has drafted up a model of what our kitchen COULD look like with little money and a lot of work.... and it looks fab. We can't wait to get started!

In the Future..... In the Present........This is Peter....Its going to take lots of work.

Conference Weekend Video

So Michelle decided she would rather have a video camera than go a roadtrip for her graduation gift, so I gave it to her early so we could take it on our trip to St. George this weekend. We had fun trying to figure out how to use it. Enjoy!

Micah the Ficus

We would like the welcome the newest member of our family:
Micah the Ficus!

We inherited this tree (amongst a whole bunch of loot) from Michelle's brother and his wife when they moved to North Carolina last week (*sniff*). Michelle was able to go down and help them pack (*sniff*). We do not approve of this move!

But we think Micah looks great in our living room and we're very excited to have a live plant in our house! Now, let's just hope it stays that way because we know he is very tempermental!!

They also gave us several plants that we potted and are waiting to finalize their final resting place when we do the landscaping this summer. But for now, they look great on our walkway.

Michelle is also stoked about her new keyboard that Brian gave her! It has 'real pedals and a piano bench!'

Gotta love free loot! :) But we're going to miss you guys!!! Good luck in your new home!

March in Phoenix

Two blog posts in one week? I am trying to make up for the 2 months that I posted 0 (Zero) times.

This winter has been "INTERESTING". I dont even know if I can even call the past few months winter because the high never dropped below 60. Some mornings I would get up and say to myself, "wow kinda chilly today better wear a sweater." By 10a.m. I was kicking myself in class because it was now 70 outside and I was too hot. So spring in Phoenix has been actually quite nice. Mainly because spring started on January 12th.

It is official now, as of March 14th Michelle and I started TANNING for the 2009. We began our tans at an Oakland A's spring training game against the Giants.
We attended the game with some of Michelle's family. Her Brother Kevin, and Brother Brian and his family.
After the game we went to Brian and Tiffany's house and had a BBQ! Fun times!

Been a While!

To all of the people that faithfully follow our blog, both of you, I apologize for being delinquent in my posting.

This past week my long lost brother returned home from Leon Mexico! We are so proud of his service and faithfulness. (For those that have a tendency to become emotional easily view the next photos slowly, and let the tears roll)

Mom seeing her son for the first time in two years!

This past Sunday (3/8/2009) Daniel (Elder Dalton) spoke during our church meeting. I was quite impressed with the spirit that he carried with him as he spoke. I am proud that he is my brother.

Now for what you have all been waiting for

A picture of my beard!

And Michelle with our new baby, STELLA JANE !

Oh wait, not OUR new baby but my sister Rachel and husband Scott's new baby, Stella Jane Madsen. SO CUTE. during our visit to St. George Michelle and I continuously asked Rachel and Scott "How do we make one of those?" (meaning a baby) They refused to answer
