Pete's Best Valentine's Day Ever!

Pete really lucked out this Valentine's Day. We both worked the weekend, but still decided to exchange a gift. I have been wanting to replace his old smelly bike jersey for years and decided it was time. I found a Utes one for clearance online and figured he might as well show some school pride.

Since the jersey was such a good deal, I figured another idea was in order. So, being me, I started racking craigslist for ideas weeks ahead of time. Pete has been wanting a new bike computer, and I found a sweet Garmin listed for a fraction of the price.....almost brand new.

Then, of course, Pete mentions again how nice it would be to have a newer bike. So I thought...hmmm...I wonder what I can find on craigslist. Found a sweet Felt that had only been used for <50 miles. Talked the guy into selling it for practically nothing. It had been sitting around for 2 years and he just wanted to get rid of it. SOLD!! :)

Pete was stoked. We were able to sell Pete's old bike on craigslist for way more than we thought.....which made the new purchase even cheaper! Pete was sad to see it go, though. It was a great bike!

Happy Birthday/Valentine's Day/Engagment Anniversary

Pete and I have made a new commitment to take more photos. We look back and realize we have almost no photos of our first 3 years of married life. Sad! Anyway, we decided to take our camera along for our weekend extravaganza. Pete just finished his surgery rotation where he was at the hospital from 4am to 7pm for 26 out of 28 days of his rotation. Yuck. Needless to say, we didn't see each other much. We both worked Valentine's weekend, and since I was sick for my birthday weekend and did nothing but lay in bed and complain, AND our engagement anniversary coming up, we decided to take advantage of this past weekend. We had good intentions of actually going somewhere, but in the end we were too lazy/stingy to take the plunge. So....we stayed at home and did a few things around town that we wouldn't normally do.
We started out by going to the mall to get Pete some new shoes. Ended up talking the guy into giving us 3 pairs of Vans for 50% of the clearance price. Yahoo! (I don't know if I'm more shocked about the price, or the fact that Pete actually went to the mall with me. *gasp*)

Eating at PF Chang's......Happens once a year on my birthday. We were just 4 months late.....

Went to see "Unknown" with friends from church.

Took a nice morning bike ride with Pete's new wheels.

Ate lunch at Jason's Deli, where of course we ate the 'free' ice cream first! I would hate to not have room at the end! :)

Went to see a doubleheader at the drive-in theatres in Glendale.

Hopped in the car and took a drive to Payson. Pete was so excited to see snow!!

In commemoration of our 'proposal', we grabbed Subway and drove to a peak for a nice scenic picnic.

Here we are reenacting the 'proposal' and staring lovingly into each other's eyes. Bleh! :)

Apparently I said yes....

Nothing much to do in Payson, so we hit up the Dollar Store and found some real treasures! Remember playing recorders in grade school? Saweet!! We actually spent 6 bucks there, which means we got suckered into buying 6 things that we really didn't need.

Highlight of the town: Pete's Place Topless Cabaret. I think that's really why Pete wanted to go to Payson.....

Cheese in the snow.

Finished the weekend off with a popcorn and a movie at home. Pete even stoked up the fire. (Yes, it does get cold in Phoenix.....sometimes.)

Wow....we watched a lot of movies this weekend!

Holidays!

Pete and I had a great holiday! We both had some time off work/school so it was nice to go see family and spend some time together.

Pete next to the tallest Christmas tree in the U.S.---110 feet. It's not far from where we live so we had to take a photo op.

I think Santa is grimacing.

We asked Santa for an interest-free loan for medical school this year, but I think he forgot. Maybe next year.....

CHRISTMAS

We spent Christmas with my family this year in SLC. Most of our footage was on video camera this year, but we have a few shots to share.

Eastley kids home for the hoo-lidays.

Celebrated my sister's birthday. Woot woot!

Pete and I jamming out the Christmas duets.

Making the annual "Grandma Huish" gingerbread house.

Pete always has to put a 'jibber' by the house. We didn't have the right candy for a snowboarder this year, so he grudgingly had to do a skiier.

Christmas morning....he got really excited when he saw gushers in his stocking. I think that was his favorite gift all day.

My mom made us a wedding quilt for Christmas this year. We've been waiting and waiting for 2 years and are so excited to have it!

We were also able to see a few friends before we headed south.

My friend/former roommate Hailey and new baby Ava.

Friends from Weber days.....the group keeps growing! Pete and I missed the memo that we were supposed to bring a baby to the party. Whoops! :)

NEW YEAR'S EVE

After Christmas we headed south for St. George. We spent New Year's Eve with Pete's family and some of their good friends. We played a bunch of games from "Minute to Win It." It was a riot!

Here is everyone making their New Year's Eve hat. I didn't realize how uncreative I was until I married into the Dalton clan.

Please ignore the double chins.....it's the camera angle, I swear! :)

Happy New Year! (My favorite hat is the disco lady on the far right. Complete with disco ball and everything! Hehehe.)

Hope you all had a great holiday! On to 2011!
