Here is my new baby (thanks, Dan!). We call her Ruby. I have been looking at getting a road bike for about 8 years now and finally took the plunge. Pete took me on my first ride this morning and I almost biffed it when I got sucked in to a crack in the road (I forgot how skinny my tires are). Luckily my super-power balance skills came in handy.

And this is what happens when you ride clipless for the first time and lean the wrong way while stopping because you are stupid enough to forget which foot you unclipped.

I'm an idiot.
Don't worry.....Ruby's fine.

bad ruby!
I like your ruby shirt! We're working on getting me a bike, too. And tires for Ryan's, since he's had it for 3 years now and hasn't ridden....
Wow, you are a real bike rider now--fancy bike, clipless, and road rash!
I am so jealous that you got a bike! I would love to get one, someday I suppose. You should head this way up to Utah. Are you coming to SLC at all this summer, we are here ALL summer. Miss you!
Ha. I thought people stopped "biffing it" in '96. Thanks for that phrasal anachronism; it warmed my heart right up.
